I use the brush guard shampoo then use Anti bacterial soap & olive oil mix. It's how oil painters clean their brushes, gets rid of all the nasties and the oil conditions your brushes bristles.

I have the Brush Guard sets from Coastal Scents which are great for making sure that your brushes do not lose their shape while driving. I wash mine with the brush cleanser from Coastal Scents and then place them in the Brush Guards to dry overnight! Then they are beautiful and clean. You can also use baby shampoo.

Anti bacterial soap and olive oil. Like Shelley said, I'm an artist and that's how I clean my paint brushes as well!! It's a good way to clean your brushes with out damaging them.

For a quick clean between uses you can also spray them with white cider vinegar- then warm rinse and a cold rinse. Vinegar is a natural disinfectant

Face brushes I wash once a month because they take too long to dry. So I use a lot of brush cleanser by MAC. My eye brushes I wash more often, with baby shampoo and conditioner. :)

Dr. Bronner's! It makes my white brushes completely white again. I buy the big bottle because I use it as shampoo, body/face wash, and laundry detergent. Love!

I use baby shampoo and when i run out i'll mix together some warm water, organic (no chemical) dish soap & olive oil. Inexpensive compared to brush cleaners, gentle on bristles & fragrance free
