Murad has really helped me lately. I have tried every drugstore acne product they've got and none of them have worked like Murad has. And honestly, Clarisonic has by far been the best because my skin got really bad a couple of years ago and it helped tremendously! Now my skin very rarely gets blemishes. Here is my nighttime skin routine-
1) Remove makeup
2) Rinse face of with CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser w/ warm water (I do this to help open up pores a little bit and just to make sure my makeup is gone, so my Clarisonic can deep cleanse my face vs just trying to remove my makeup).
3) Apply Murad Clarifying Cleanser (not sure if thats the name but I'll post a pic of what I use) to my Clarisonic and use for 1 minute.
4) Apply Murad Toner all over face (this stuff is my holy grail! It has helped so much lately!)
5) CeraVe Moisturizing Lotion
6) Apply spot treatment as needed.
And in the morning I just wash my face with CeraVe, Tone, Moisturize, and then do makeup.

Now I know the Clarisonic is expensive, but it has been worth every single penny to me. I am so glad I purchased one because it is so amazing. I've had it for about two years and I just love it. But you do have to use it everyday, the right cleanser for you, and the proper brush for your skin type so you get the right results. I think thats where so many people go wrong with them, is that they just expect it to work after one use and don't try it everyday. No matter what though, never never never ever go to sleep without washing your face! If you want your skin to look great then why not spend 5 minutes max if even that? You can't expect your skin to just get better without helping it yourself.

Also try doing face mask to help draw out imperfections. I recommend Queen Helene's Mint Julep mask or The Body Shop (they also have pretty good cleansers too, look at Ulta)

My sister suffered acne and was told by a nurse to wipe face with surgical spirits twice a day for a week then use a good non oily cleanser from then on. worked a treat and shes never had them since!! surgical spirit does sting on open spots though.

Don't use rubbing alcohol or anything like it! That is the worst thing you could ever do. Your skin produces oil when it's dry. Using something as drying as rubbing alcohol will onky make the problem worse. I agree with Jacqlyn that you should see a dermatologist. Acne is a really complex thing and sometimes treating it on your own just isn't possible. You could try a bunch of home remedies or products from the drugstore but if it's moderate or severe you will probably just end up irritating your skin and throwing money down the drain. Please go to a professional, your skin will thank you in the end.
