A little bit of oil not too much or it will look greasy.
Definitely don't wash your hair the same day you do it so the curl holds more.
I know hair stylists also do their wrk outside of salons. So maybe you can ask your favorite hair stylist to come over and do your hair. I used to do it all the time and its definitely better ( also cheaper. )
I recommend practicing the hair style now and not wait day of so you can get the hang of it. Maybe you can have another friend or bridesmaid get together so you girls can curl each others it alway comes out better as they have a back view lol.
One n only has a serum that has some Argan oil in it. I use their products all the times and my curly hair loves it. Definitely gives them some curl and shine.
I usually use heat rollers on my hair if I'm doing heated curls. I dampen it a bit with some leave in conditioner that way I don't need any other products and it stays all day.
Maybe you can try sitting under a heat setter as those curls definitely stay. ( wet hair in rollers ) most salons usually offer that.

Try foam rollers in over night there are a bunch of YouTube videos about heatless curls that also don't require any styling products just your natural hair n some foam rollers (or socks) overnight n boom curls in the morning :)

You are both sooo helpful! thank you so much I will definitely be practicing this multiple times before the day of the wedding. I normally never do anything with my hair other than straighten it so this will be quite challenging lol
