Hi girls, I justed wanted to know your personal experience with milk and acne.
Milk has hormones in it that mimmick testosterone, and can increase sebum/oil production causing acne. It also is an important source of vitamin A and calcium, do you guys think the risk is worth the reward?

You can get calcium & vitamin a from other foods. you actually don't even need dairy. I still have dairy because I don't have acne issues.

M G: I can't drink almond milk, it tastes yucky to me.
Faith: Actually I try and get organic or rbST free milk, I just like to hear peoples opinions on it, I'm too big of a dairy lover to quit milk!

All in all if you aren't going to drink milk drink and or find an alternative source if calcium. In my opinion if someone isn't going to drink milk then why eat icecream and yogurt too.

I've gone without dairy a few different times. The longest time was 5 months. My skin had both good and bad days with dairy and without it so for me I know it doesn't make a difference.

I uses to struggle with acne a LOT. I tried all kinds of cleansers, toners, and other products. but nothing helped me so much as cutting dairy from my diet (it eliminated probably 90% of my acne at the time. a year or two later I went on birth control and now my zits are few and far between!). my mom suggested it, and it made sense as I'd been considering a vegan diet for a while. the results were instantaneous. milk is branded as helpful and nutritious, when it typically does more harm than good. vitamin a and calcium are found in dark, leafy greens and many other non-dairy sources. you can get vitamin d (another supposed "health benefit" of milk) just by taking a 15 minute barefoot walk in the grass. :)
