I used to use The Body Shop's tea tree skin care kit because I had mild acne. I ended up getting a really bad case of acne where my face turned numb and the pimples were huge and swelling and red. what are your experiences with tea tree oil or lotion and what acne regimen works for you?

Tea tree oil honestly didn't do anything for me..:( I felt like it wasn't helping at all and it didn't necessarily make my acne worse but it didn't help me either!

For me it's been pretty good. I use one drop in a mixture a jojoba oil and avocado oil as a moisturiser and it's been great for my skin. Only thing is, I wouldn't use too much as it's very powerful and can really dry out the skin. So good in moderation. :)

Different people has different skin texture. Your skin is not meant for Tea Tree Oil if its doing all that. And it could also be a different type of product you was using , causing your skin to react.

I have used the The Body Shop line, and it didn't really made any difference (and I think it smells like disinfectant :P) the only thing I really noticed a difference was with their tea tree spot treatment. I would dab a drop on a bad, swollen pimple and it would look much better the next day.

The Body Shop's Tea Tree Oil is very diluted and it didn't seem to do much to my skin. I recently purchased 100% tea tree oil and it seems to work a little better at preventing my pimples from getting worse. But with any type of natural treatment, the process is very slow... So I'd say tea tree oil works well at keeping your skin from getting worse but it's not an emergency acne spot treatment.
