I dyed my hair black and when I wash my hair I still see that dye washing out of my hair. my hair was black but now from the mid-shaft down It's a reddish brownish color. I use pureolgy when washing my hair.
Every time I dye my hair I always have this problem. why is that?

I don't dye my hair when I freshly washed my hair. I wait a few days after I wash then I dye. and pureology is for color treated hair. I used ions ammonia free permanent hair color. It could be the dye but then again it happens with other hair color brands too.

Your hair may be over processed and so the dye won't hold anymore, try a protein treatment before colouring like neutral protein filler by colourful.

it must be. I don't know because my I never had this problem before like a few years ago.
Alexis - lol I keep rinsing until the water is slightly clear. it feels like a never ending thing trying to rinse the dye out. I always use a heat protectant and my shampoo & conditioner is color treated.
Katie - where can I buy the protein filler by colorful? and how do I apply this to my hair?

I got mine online via amazon it's a bit dear but soooo worth it. You basically saturate your hair with it n leave it on as long as possible before colouring. It also acts as a treatment in between colouring. Instructions are on the bottle, hope this helps

You don't wash it out before applying the colour either.
