Exfoliate! Waxing eliminates it too as it pulls it out directly from the root x

Strawberry legs I have it too. I've looked ito this to no end and honestly there's not much using a salicylic acid lotion to exfoliate and clean.out the pore a bit but even that's not a miricle worker.

That's how my legs look when I use my Schick razor, but when I use my bic ones the hairs don't show. I don't know if that helps lol.

Is it like hair or dry skin in the pore or what?
May 4, 2014
Traci L.
That's called Keratosis pilaris you can help it my exfoliating with Salicylic acid and glycolic body wash and use a cream called Amlactin or KP Duty.

Just like the pores on your face dirt and bacteria get trapped in them

Would waxing or sugaring help any?
May 4, 2014
Traci L.
It's not really a clogged pore some people have it because they have a over production of keratin which is protein at the hair follicles 50 percent of people have this.

What should I exfoliate with?
May 4, 2014
Traci L.
A body wash with Salicylic acid like neutrogena acne body wash and a exfoliating glove.
May 4, 2014
Traci L.
No because anyone can get it some people have it on the back of there arms and face in severe cases,of course if your hair is dark it's more noticeable,on people with light hair the bumps look more red

With exfoliation, will it go away? and if it does, how long will it be?
May 4, 2014
Traci L.
It's never going to just go away ,you have to take care of it to make it less noticeable and waxing instead of shaving helps also.

I always thought that was like the root of the hair that shaving couldn't get. I noticed when waxing those don't appear.

This is a great thread. glad I read it.

Traci, I don't think it's keratosis pilaris because I have it on my thighs, and it's more red bumps than black dots. I could be wrong but I think that's just hair missed from shaving.

It also grows back so fast. does waxing slow it down?
May 4, 2014
Claire G.
Waxing is pulling the entire hair out. So yes, waxing will make the hair grow back slower. It also looks far better than shaving, in my opinion.

Hun it can be on your theighs legs, back of arms ,I have it on my legs and arms and I'm brown skin so my bumps are not red there brown dots.dark hair a dark root will show ,and some people have more of a severe case with raised red bumps ,everyone is different

No I wasn't saying that it's not keratosis because it's on my thighs, I just thought since they were black dots they were more from shaving. And it looks like we have the same skin tone and sometimes I get black bumps but those are just hairs not quite removed from shaving. Nothing rude was meant, I was politely disagreeing, please no rudeness. Thank you.

Aww hun I didn't think you were rude it is a combination of the hair and it being trapped in the follicles because of the build up of protein thats why even if you get waxed you can still see the little dots so you are right also it's both. And your can disagree with me that's what this site is about different opinions,it's all good
