When I apply my liquid foundation and I want to apply powder I use a powder brush but when I apply the powder over my face it rubs my liquid foundation kind of off and there's patches? How do I go about this! Never been good with applying makeup :(

Get the right powder to match the foundation, for example I use Mac studio fix powder along with max products and I press the powder on rather than brush :)

@Laura, maybe try the Hourglass primer? apparently it's an oil absorbing primer, so really good for people with oily skin (:
& definitely try a stippling brush as opposed to a powder brush.

Wait 5 mins to allow the foundation to set. And if you're still not sure then you can take 1 ply off a Kleenex tissue and lightly blot your face. I have even heard of some women who will dust their powder on THROUGH the tissue to ensure they only get the thinnest layer of powder on their foundation.

Also I will use a flat fluffy powder brush to gently "pat" on powder. I never buff or stroke it on.

I agree with the other girls. Definitely always use a primer and then let your foundation sink in like while you're doing your eyes or brows or something before applying powder. Also, just press the powder onto your skin rather than buffing it in-I personally prefer my elf flat too brush or my real techniques powder brush.

On the other hand it's possible it could be the powder you're using? I like the rimmel stay matte and the maybelline dream matte pressed powder or whatever the name is lol.
