But it also can depend on you and what your body does . Some people's hair doesn't grow just because of heredity

Eh, trimming helps with getting the breakage and split ends gone before they can go any higher, so cutting your hair every few months does help. But you can do soooo many things to help your hair grow. Basically healthy happy hair is what grows. So that means no heat, washing your hair as little as possible, getting a good leave in conditioner, weekly hot coconut oil treatments, apple cider vinegar rinses, eating healthy, drinking plenty of water, scalp massages, adding in a biotin supplement, fish oil capsules, rinsing your hair in cold water, braiding your hair at night, never brushing it when wet, and so many more. Also eat a bunch of protein to rich foods. :) and don't stress since its bad for your hair. :) focus of the health of your hair, and length will follow. :)

And. I've heard putting it up in a high tight pony tail helps also.

Eh, Jordan, your constant disagreeing is annoying. Eh, Martina, putting your hair in a snug ponytail will help actually as long as you're not sleeping in it. Eh.

Take a multivitamin, massage your scalp, minimize heat styling, and avoid tight ponytails cuz it can cause breakage when you take out the hair tie. I use hairclips most of the time now. Braid your hair a lot. When I was little I,always had braids and my hair was super long. I do these things when I want my hair to grow out.
