I'm a bit of a nail bitter but only when nervous and I've stooped that now any idea in how to speed up the growth.

You can't really speed the growth of the nails, but you could make them healthier. I put olive oil on mine, it's not a routine but I do it every now and then. I also do not remove nail polish with acetone. :)
