Recently I have taken a step outside of my comfort zone and started picking brighter lip colors. I have seen lots of pictures of the MAC Heroine lipstick and have really taken a liking to it but I have never worn a color like it. I also have bright purple hair and don't want it to be a purple overload.
So my questions are...
- are there any good dupes that I can try to see if I like the color?
- does it look good on paler skin?
- would it be too much purple?
Thanks for your help and input!! :D

I don't think it would be too much with purple hair! I think it would look edgy and fun! If you wore the combo, I would just steer clear of wearing purple clothes/accessories. Some good dupes are the Maybelline Color Elixir in Lavender Voltage and Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm in 215 Shameless. As for the pale skin, I don't see why it would look bad! Good luck!

Bold colors work well with pale skin! I would suggest wearing neutral colors if you are rocking a bright lip/hair combo :-)

Hi, Rikki!
I've have to agree with Cami F. Go ahead and give it a try! The only other piece of advice I might give is to try keeping the rest of your makeup fairly simple when you wear a strong lip color like that. Particularly if your hair is also a fairly vivid purple. Try sticking with basic eyeliner, mascara, and maybe some subtle blush/highlighter. That way, your lipstick and hair color will really be able to take center stage in your look without appearing too overwhelming.
That's just my opinion, though. If you want to try a bolder look, go for it! You never really know what you'll like until you try it.

Thanks so much everyone! I don't wear a lot of bright colors as far as clothing goes and my go-to eye look is basic, clean cut cat eye liner and mascara.
I'm really excited :) thanks for the dupes! I will post pics of the final product!
