Foundation Dilemma :(

I have a serious issue! Soooo ... I've tried various foundations for the past 5 years and I have to say I have never found a color that doesn't photograph too light compared to the rest of my body. I have gone to MAC numerous times to get color matched but I find that they pick a color that is a bit too dark for me and that has really made me not want to go back to try being color matched again! I enjoy a few drugstore foundation but again, when I pick a color suitable for my skin, it photographs too white. I don't know if maybe I just need to start purchasing a foundation that is a bit darker to match my body but my only issue with that is that when I was matched to a MAC NC30, I didn't know how to really apply it without it being uneven on my face or having my lighter skin show through?

Any advice, comments, suggestions would be HIGHLY appreciated :)

Thanks!

It sounds like the problem might be the flash and not the foundation. I wouldn't recommend wearing a foundation darker than you skin, it should be color matched. If you are just taking photos with friends etc with a personal camera try either standing back a bit or turn off the flash. A high powered flash right in the face will wash you out making you look much more pale. If you are being professionally photographed talk to your photog, it should be a simple lighting fix for him/her.

I hope this helps!

If your makeup has any SPF in it, it will make it look lighter in photos. Make sure to get foundation with no SPF! And when matching foundation, match it to the colour of your neck. And when you see pictures of celebrities on the red carpet with WHITE on their face it can be either too much HD powder OR they used translucent powder instead of transparent. Always use transparent powder to set anything NOT translucent

Use powder on top of ur foundation, it really works! I use camera finish by Napoleon..
Had the same problem in the past n didn't know why. In real life ur make up looks great but in photos I looked like a ghost lol yeah I was told that there's high lighters in the foundation which reflects light hence makes u whiter in photos.

Also look to see if Talc is in your products, this creates a white appearance with using flash.
