I've tried many different ways and find that using a stippling brush is the best!

Stippling brush or try like a buffing brush

I think it depends on the coverage you are looking for. You will get fullest coverage with fingers, lighter coverage with tools, lightest coverage with the stipling brush.

I like the stippling brush but it seems to give me a dewy finish and I have oily skin so most of the time I use a sponge or my fingers lol

I always use a damp sponge. I tried using a standard foundation brush years ago and hated the finish it gave me -- always too cakey or streaky. I love the finish a wet wedge sponge gives me, and I think it's more hygienic than using a brush. I hate the idea of layering on product that's just been sitting in the brush, but I also don't have time to wash my brushes every day.
