My prom is in exactly a week, and last night the girl who had planned to do my makeup told me she wasn't going to be able to do it after all, so that leaves me to have to do it myself. My question for you guys is, what are some important tips for special occasion makeup? Feel free to share anything that comes to mind, thanks (:

Be careful with heavier makeup I think Pottinger and a setting spray, and don't accent multiple features, I.e. eyes not lips or lips not eyes.

You definitely want your makeup to last all day/night. Investing in a good primer and foundation are necessary. I personally like Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer and I love my L'Oreal True Match Foundation. It all depends on your skin type when it comes to choosing the right primer and foundation. For eye makeup I would go a bit more bold so that it shows up well in pictures. Also if you're wearing lipstick try to choose a brand that will last through eating, drinking and talking all night. I personally prefer a nude/pinkish lip colour so that I'm not worried about touching up. You can also invest in a setting spray to make your makeup last longer. What skin type do you have?

Use primer!! and a setting spray. prime your lids good and I would go for darker eyeshadow so it can show up more at night. I tend to apply a heavier face if I'm going out at night. Revlon color stay is a very good foundation for night time I then apply Milani multitasker face powder and it's a perfect combo! also if you carry some of the setting spray with you and powder so you can touch up.

Before the make up make sure you've got a good wash routine! Clear skin will make your make up look so much better! Have alook around YouTube for looks, you deffo need a primer as stated before I get on really well with max factor but it all depends on your skin. L'oreal have a good one too. When you have some free time practice, you don't want the day to arrive and your panicking! I would keep it very simple!

I think it is perfectly fine to accent multpile features. Some "rules" turn out fabulously when broken. lol... I would ask Jackie or Alma what they would suggest, they are super duper helpful!:)
