Things you can try are coconut oil or shea butter. Please don't use vase line coz it won't heal it. just keep applying it every few hours. One more thing that works for me but comes with warning is honey. am sorry but I love honey. it really helps heals wounds but try it at your own risk.

Lip scrubs girl! Brown sugar, olive oil, honey, and/or aloe! There's tons of DIY on YouTube I made some and my lips are always so soft afterward and take off that skin

I wouldn't use a scrub yet I'd focus on rehydrating them first if there that painful. I had this recently and can't recommend burts bees lip balm with pomegranate ( they do other varieties) x

Vaseline! Put it on whenever. Also don't lick your lips and put it on before you go to bed :)

I make a DIY lip scrub that works well out of coconut oil, sugar, olive oil and raw honey and then slather Aquaphor on afterward. If it's too painful for a scrub right now, you could just try using Aquaphor. I find it works better than Vaseline and other lip balms.

Do not put vaseline anywhere near your face!! Its so bad because of the chemicals in it and all it does is coat the lips and not really moisturize. I love Aquaphor Chapstick (just go look at the chapstick aisle). The day of prom my lips were bleeding they were so bad and after 30 minutes it had practically healed my lips! Nivea is also pretty good too but I would try the Aquaphor first because they are so bad. And I would not exfoliate, maybe just once and be careful doing it, I would use the bristles of a toothbrush with warm water on it.

Yeah, don't use Vaseline lol. it doesn't moisturize. it is a sealant. also, I wouldn't use eos either.

I agree, no Vaseline/petroleum products. Or EOS. I love Alba's lip balms. They're soothing and on the more natural side. They use coconut oil instead of petroleum.

If you can afford to spend a couple extra bucks on a lip balm I recommend Jack Black too. Sephora and Ulta have the brand and their lip balms are great.

The product that saved me from almost scrubbing my mouth of was Lucas paw paw ointment I smothered it on took the pain away and repaired it enough (still had to go to the doctors about the excma but it helped ease that aswell and took away the pain)
It's not to at all pricey- can't recommend it enough I've used it for nearly 8 years now
It also works to take rashes, and stuff like that

Sadly the Papaw ointment is made with a base of petroleum too. I recently found that out and was super disappointed. It's apparently pharmaceutical grade though. I don't know if that changes the sealant issue though. I wouldn't use it myself but I would think it would still be better thab straight up Vaseline. It saddens me that so many companies use petroleum just because it's cheap.
