I have always wondered about the henna hair dye products. Are they good or bad? And does the color last?

I used to use a red henna. The color was great though it left my hair dry so use a deep conditioner. Also, my color lasted about half the time as my normal dye but it's great for a more natural approach or for women who are pregnant.

Henna is great but the minute you want to use professional color then it might turn your hair green trying to change it in salon

i used henna about 2 or 3 weeks ago and i still love it. After i used it my curl was very defined and it added a very good shine to my hair. i got a redish/orange color which looks great on my brown (natural 4) hair. It wasnt drastic but i have a tint. i love it and would definitely do it again

Henna is not good for your hair and it's extremely difficult to color over because some of it is metallic and can create distress on your hair or turn it a weird color once you want to color over it. I don't recommend it. I'm in cosmetology school and henna is not the best way to go.

I used henna in my hair in June. the jamila brand. my hair is naturally brown so it definitely tinted it a maroon color. I love it and it strengthened my hair too. since June my hair has grown about 5 inches. I believe it was the length retention from henna's conditioning properties. but Idk for sure, I'd just recommend it cuz my hair is now super soft and pretty!

I wouldn't recommend using henna. It's not good for your hair is really hard to remove or color over.

Pure, body art quality Henna is the way to go. It has no additives or metallic salts, just the plant.

I've used the Lush henna before and I really liked it. I was looking to add a subtle red on top of my dark brown and it looked good. If you have previously colored your hair, definitely do a strand test first, even if you think all the dye is gone from your hair. And remember that if you want to color on top of your henna, things can go very wrong, so again do a strand test. My henna lasted about 6 or so weeks before it noticeably faded, but it didn't leave me with any harsh regrowth. Like Erica L. said, t's a good option if you want something more natural or if you're just want a subtle change.

I always get my henna applied at an Indian salon! No self made mess, and their product is pure!

I have used henna for 6 years and still do, my hair has never looked better; its amazing and I only spend two bucks at my nearby Indian store, I always get compliments, only con is its permanent so if you change your colour frequently, its not for you

Henna is a hairstylists worst nightmare. It is a long and hard process to remove henna color and you can't put anything but henna on again until it is all out.

henna is absolutely great at first but then when it starts fading away it looks like doodoo haha no joke. anyway I wouldn't do it, just go to the salon girl!
