I've read that having healthy skin, hair and nails comes from being healthy and that there are a number of vitamins and natural supplements you can take to aid in this.
What have your heard?

The best way to get vitamins is through the food you eat! Being healthy comes from eating healthy food, not from supplements :-) veggies, greens, nuts and fish are all good things to up in your diet if you want to improve what you eat ^^

I have read that drinking green tea, taking fish oil and eating almonds as they are high in vitamin E, are all good for healthy skin and hair.

I like to get the bulk of my vitamins through my diet. Zinc, E, C, D, A, B complex, Omega 3 and Iron are all beneficial to hair, nails and skin. You want to bump up those antioxidants through fruits and veggies. Dark red or purple grapes, cranberries, blueberries and black berries are so beneficial to skin health. and Omegas are found in Salmon, walnuts, eggs. I also take a supplement. Spinach is packed with iron. Vitamin D is generated by the sun although an SPF is a must for me. Still...sunshine can do a body good in small doses. D is also added to many dairy products. Citrus and some teas, like Rosehip, for example are a great source of Vitamin C. Rosehips themselves are used in many foods to add Vitamin C. Zinc is found in seeds, Beef and Lentils. B12 is found in many meats, shellfish, cereals that are fortified, cheese and eggs.

Vitamin C applied topically is highly beneficial and brightens the skin. You want to look for a serum where ascorbic acid is the active ingredient. Hope that helps!

Everything has to do with being healthy. it's better to get everything through foods, though. talk to your doctor before taking any supplements, though. you could have side effects serious enough to put you in the hospital. not trying to scare you lol, but it does happen. better to be safe than sorry. especially because if you have too much of one you can make yourself deficient in another.

Exactly what Kat said. Taking supplements without a deficiency can lead to overdose, resulting in side effects and even toxicity. Some supplements can interact with or interfere with prescription medications. If you take a vitamin without needing it, at best your body will just release it in your pee (and waste your money). At worst, you will end up in the emergency room.

Eat a healthy diet like these lovely ladies suggested, and consult with your physician to find out if there is anything you need to/can take.
