How do we find out the bridal rates in the area and if we get client inquiries do we tell them of the rates compared to our or is that a bad idea ?

Giving them comps of area competition. Bad move. You can give an industry average for your area. For example, you're on the phone with a potential client;" Yes, industry average in Anyplace,USA is about $200 for the particular service. We charge..... " Or if you want to skip all that just give them your rate price and move on because potential clients are going to research fees anyway on their own but you definitely don't want to talk yourself right out of a gig. You want your work to speak for itself to gain that client.
