I don't use anything but a beauty blender. I love mine so much! For me, I put some foundation or bb cream on the back of my hand and then dip the end of the beauty blender in and kind of pounce it all over my face and then use the sides to roll it out and make sure its all blended. The only downside that I have found is it has a nasty habit of holding on to extra product, so make sure that you wash it every single time you use it or it'll spread bacteria and get funky after a while.

side note* If you can't afford to get the soap that is made for it, you can use shampoo or even a little bit of dawn dishwashing liquid. I've found that it gets the foundation out better than the stuff that is made for it.
