I've had Acrylic nails before gels before and silk wraps as well. I have naturally longer nails, that have a tendency to rip (que my handy dandy nail glue and tea bag fix) but lately that trick doesn't cut it. I've just started fixing them with acrylic powder. I love the look it gives and would love to do the overlay on all but am afraid of the negative affects. Opinions?

What's a silk wrap?

Basically a piece of silk is glued on your nail then built up by powder and glue. Looks more natural than others

Tia, I bought a lit by Kiss, just to fix the little cracks. My nails aren't really weak so I'm afraid that the acrylic overlay will destroy them

If the acrylic is done properly then your nails will be fine.Tias product she mentioned sounds great, just don't over buff your nails before you do the treatment. I'm a nail tech and I love an overlay on mine. it makes them protected n stops them flaking :)

My whole thing is that whenever I've had any type of fake nails, my real ones have always been ruined
