It is great for drying put a pimple and as an anti oxidant.

Tea tree oil is also a fragrance and is technically an irritant. That may be why some people cannot handle it being on their skin for a lengthy period of time. Those with sensitive skin should definitely wash it off after a short period unless they are sure they can handle it. It's all about being gentle ☺
