How can I get a lot of volume like this?

If your hair is wet you can blow dry it upside down. Also use the cool air setting on the blow dryer itll be a little better than using just plain heat. you can also use a volumizing hairspray at your roots. You can also use large rollers all over your head and make sure you get close to your crown.
