I colored my hair with a 5NN and it turned black. Before I colored it, my hair was around a 5 ash. I used a 20 and left it on for 30 min.
Does anyone know why this happened?? I've never had this problem before.

Perhaps your hair is just porous. Meaning it just absorbs quickly and tends to lose color quickly as well. There are ways to lightening it like mixing a little bit of baking soda with shampoo or doing a bleach bath. This usually happens to my cousins hair. She wanted a deep brown but it turned black and then when she used black hair color it would fade and be a deep red/brown.
