American brands - things to look out for?!

I'm going to New York next week and coincidently I'm low on a lot of my usual skin care and make up products. Does anyone know of any brands to look out for that aren't available in the UK for me to try something new whilst I'm there?

I know that they don't sell Tarte products in the UK

Tarte is fantastic. I agree with Kaitlin. I'm also fond of the OCC Lip Tars, Too Faced, Bars and Benefit. Too Faced has some great shadow kits, The Return of Sexy being a fav. Stila liquid liner and lip colors are also wonderful.

I would go straight to Sephora. They have a bunch of high end products in one place. Just remember New York shopping is extremely expensive, even for Americans so it may be higher in price for pounds or euros.

Tarte is coming to the UK.
I would go for lorac, makeup forever, milani, Anastasia Beverley hills and Kat Von d :)

You might want to cross over to NJ especially if you want to shop for clothes. No tax on clothes there and in general lower sales tax than in NY.

Well they do have sephora in Europe so iono how different it is in the US compared to UK I would hit up ULTA they have high end and low end brands all in one place so you can splurge or get good deals on cheaper products as well - otherwise everything in Europe is more expensive than the US since a USD doesn't go very far in Europe with the exchange rate - plus tax in Europe is insane like 20%.. so I'm sure you will find everything there to be fairly priced compared to prices in Europe so you won't have to worry about that - but I would suggest ULTA over sephora since they have a wider selection of beauty products.

I'm a massive fan of benefit - although I can get it here I've had a look around and it's a lot cheaper!
