I've seen gell nail polish almost take on a life of its own over the years. maybe you can answer Some questions. What do you like about it, why should I try it and what are the downsides you have experienced?

I love the finished look, gel nails for the most part look beautiful and shiny. The downside for me is definitely removing them :( soaking them in pure acetone to remove them is not the bizz, it gets messy and it makes my nail beds really weak.

^ I second all of that & would like to add that the staying power of gel polish its self is amazing. I've only had one issue with a gel manicure, and it was due to the tech, I'm positive. I'd recommend it to anyone who doesn't mind looking at the same polish for a few weeks.

I soak mine in gelish polish remover and it's way easier on my nails and I swear it's faster. Def have to file off a layer or two first. Love gelish!!

I love gel nails and basically have them on at all times. They start peeling off after 2 weeks and then I just pull them off. It doesn't damage the nail that bad. Sometimes a tech does a bad job and one nail starts coming off before all the others. That's frustrating bc once one comes off, you can't leave the rest on in my opinion. I think acrylics look so dated and regular mani only lasts like 2 days, so this is my fav option.

I'm curious about it too. thinks it looks better but not healthy for natural nails.

Charlene they are fine for natural nails aslong as they are done properly and removed properly :) don't let that put you off :)
