All of you are amazing at makeup, and it truly inspires me! So much so that I attempted a dramatic look tonight! Let's just say it didn't go to well... I refused to take a picture because I genuinely believe it will give people nightmares. I couldn't even put on lashes :) But you guys are all amazing it makes me want to keep trying! Do any of you have tips about eyeshadow /eyeliner for a beginner like me? Or any blending tips? Yall are always so helpful!

I agree! I've come on here for at least 2 hours a day the past 5 months, and it still blows my mind everyday how much talent everyone has! Seeing everyone's skills definitely move me to improve my own too.
As for eyeshadow tips, I have a few I can think off!
- Always, always, always use a primer or base. It can make a world of a difference in the mysterious world of eyeshadow. It will make colors more pigmented, go on smoother, and last way longer. The look will be all the more better with a base.
- If you struggle with blending out to far or past the end of your eyebrow, use tape! I put a piece of tape from the end of my brow to the outer corner of my eye and it creates a lovely sharp line. I think it makes the look more professional. At the end I blend the edge to prevent it from looking harsh and voila! You have the perfect shaped eyeshadow
- This isn't the case for all, but I think eyeshadow quality is a big factor. Some eye shadows just will not go on smooth or pigmented no matter what, not even if Kevyn Aucoin or Bobbi Brown applied it. And don't worry this doesn't mean you need to spend an arm and leg on eyeshadow, but make sure it is at least pigmented and somewhat smooth.
- Always blend! Blending can make or break a look in my opinion. Blend towards your browbone in a back and forth motion, or just crazy circles. You never want to see a harsh line unless that is your goal. The brush you use also makes a huge difference! Also make sure to use a brush for applying eyeshadow, and a seperate one to blend to achieve the cleanest look.
- The photo below should help you achieve a simple cat eyeliner look.
Hope this helps a tad!
