I have a darker complexion and I'm trying to figure which foundations would be best for my skin tone.

Some drugstore. foundations don't get quite dark enough. I often wear the foundation in the darkest shade possible.
I wear the darkest shade in l'oreal true match and revlon Colorstay(for oily skin.) I recommend these and I use them daily.
The drugstore foundation that you will always find a shade is Black Opal (the pic.) I haven't tried them yet but I'm trying to get my hands on that stick foundation in black walnut for cream contouring

Loreal True Match has the widest variety for darker complexions but if you have combo/oily skin I wouldn't suggest using it! I really like Revlon Colorstay because they also have a wide range and its a really great full coverage, matte finish foundation.

I love Revlon Colorstay it is my favorite drugstore foundation. Iman has a great range of shades for women of color as well. If you're into higher end, You can also check out foundations at Sephora and let them assist you in finding a shade match, you can do the same at Mac as well.

I find that loreal does have the widest selection although I couldn't find a shade that was yellow toned enough for me and it would always look too neutral brown on me compared to my neck. If you can find a shade then great, I didn't. I was more tan at the time and the deeper shades seems to have more brown and less yellow. I like Iman for a drugstore brand.

Yeah mac has a great selection of foundation but I haven't used theirs in two years, I use their powders though. I love iman, she does a good job so does kat von d.
