I don't think you can just get free samples off a website but I'm not 100% sure. Sephora will give you free samples in store if you ask. Also if you order something from the Sephora website they give you 3 free samples to try.

Hmm well if she didn't get it directly from mac I'm not sure where she got it, I didn't think they gave out free samples online, but I'm not sure sorry.

I agree with Shauna, I don't think you can get just samples from websites. sometimes if you purchase a product, you will get a free sample of something with it, but I've never known anyone who ordered just samples.
if you go into Sephora, Ulta, MAC, they will give you samples.

I too have never seen where you can just get samples off a website. You usually can add some when buying something but they don't just give them away for free because they would be so small to ship on their own. You can go to any counter or store though and ask for samples and they should give you some. I don't think any place really has a limit but I'd start by asking for specific things you want to try versus just asking for random ones. The only place I've seen that you can get just samples is Pacifica, a perfume brand. They offer samples of any of their fragrances but they aren't free, they are $2 a piece. Otherwise it's not really something that's done. Maybe she got them on eBay or something though? I may have seen that happen a couple times, I don't know for sure though. I would think you'd have to pay for something though.

Actually you can get free samples from companies without purchasing. you just have to email them asking if you can receive free samples before choosing to buy products. I have a list of cosmetic websites that send out free samples (I myself have received samples from them as well) but it is at my house so I will have to post those in a few hours. The only brand I can think of on the top of my head would be mario badescu. they just have you fill out a skincare quiz and they will ship you samples for free.
