I have extremely dry skin and my mom always insisted on massaging my entire body with it during winter and sit in the sun for few minutes before taking a bath, it really helped fight the dryness!

It lightens your skin, naturally removes tan and dark spots, stimulates hair growth, reduces your risk of cancer and increases appetite.

Is it ok to rub it on your face every week for it to lighten your skin? @maddie d.

Mustard oil is good for dry skin, Simmie, but its not suited for the sensitive facial skin. From personal experience... IT BURNS SO BADLY. from research, I'm not the only one who's experienced this haha.

One more thing, mustard oil is not a natural bleach so it will not lighten skin. However it can restore skin back to it's natural color (removes discoloration from scarring, etc). Because of this property, its a common misconception that its a skin lightener! I hope this helps :)

Jacqlyn is right about the jojoba oil, but mustard and almond oils contain the same tiny particles, won't clog pores, and are safe for the skin. Mustard oil has been used for centuries in India (the jojoba nut doesn't naturally grow there) and is regarded as one of the best skin treatments in the Punjab region :) I also just looked some things up for you Simmie, and you can apply mustard oil to your face if you mix in a spoonful of coconut oil (this balances the oil and it won't be irritating.) Mustard oil is also has antifungal and antibacterial agents :) I just wanted to make sure I got this information to before you gave up on this hahaha (mustard oil is my go to body moisturizer so I know it works and now I'm going to try the coconut oil thing as well! So excited!)

The information anupa wrote is right. I use mustard oil on scalp twice a week. Once a week massages my body with it. You can try one more thing. Its a kind of thing which passes from generation to generation in India. Earlier my grandmother used to this for me , then my mother now I myself do this. Take wheat flour in a bowl add water and mustard oil in it.Mix it and make a dough. Rub this dough all over your face , neck in fact you can use it all over your body. After rubing you will be shocked to see that the dirt and other particles which were on your skin will come on the dough. Try this once.
