Help With DIY Project + Taking A Poll.

Hello wonderful online people :)
My boyfriend is getting sick of me asking his opinion on womens clothes so I thought I'd reach out to you lovely ladies.
I am starting a new DIY project- making my own dress from stratch. I've been researching online and I think I just might be able for this (hmm.. well.. maybe. haha). Anyway I have some questions.
Which of my two drawings do you guys think I should attempt to give life to?
Have you ever taken on such a task?- how did it go?
Have you any tips? (I'm a total beginner)
What colours do you think will look good with whichever one you prefer? (example: Number 1, white dress, black lace)

Ahhh Courteney they are so cute. Going to have to draw that up too.. and I was thinking about pendulum style aswell. it might come down to whatever fabric I can find because I really like all of them... thank you Lili :)
