Hello beautylish Community,
Firstly, I would like to ask how everybody is, I hope everybody is good health.

Recently, I’ve been wanting to venture into different make up techniques other than the gradient eyes. I find myself really interested in the traditional Smokey eye, yet in the past I seem to make myself look like I’ve bashed myself in the face (ha-ha).
I have been watching a lot of videos, and blog posts about Smokey eyes in an attempt to understand the technique…. I would really love to hear your tips and recommendations for creating a traditional Smokey eye look. Below is a picture off google, it is not my work, yet I want to recreate a black Smokey eye similar to this. All help is highly appreciated. Thank you for your time.
Take care!

I'm not really professionnal at all or into bold looks like that , but first of all you need a "smokey" brush and you need to practice the blend do that there's not any harsh lines , like there's a lot of smokey eyes like colorful ones , if you wanna go into the black one you need brown and blacks and I hope I helped.

That's the kind of look I was trying to recreate too!. I just used all black, packed it onto my lid and blended upwards towards my brow and crease and just kept blending but kept it dark on the lid :)

Thank you Shaye and Anissa.
I've got a few quality eyeshadows in deep brown hues and black. When I'm blending I seem to go higher than the crease, is there a way to ensure it's all blended out yet, not going above the crease on this. It's a tricky one.

I would ask the moderator, lovely miss Jackie! She gives the most fabulous explanation for how to create a smokey eye...

I usually prime, blend a transition colour in the crease and just keep adding light amounts to the lid while blending and then when I've worked my way up to the darkest colour I use a small brush to apply it right beside the upper lash line and then blend that out. Finally I'll apply my highlight colour and blend it into the transition colour. I'm not a professional and I don't know the technique but I think the key is to add very little at a time and keep blending and building slowly (or at least it works for me). No idea how to do it with a pencil though sorry. Hopefully some of that made sense :S.

Ask Miss Jackie. Her explanation is great and has helped me boatloads.
