So I was wondering what beauty brands (hair/makeup) are available in South America, specifically Bolivia. Since I am moving there at the end of summer, I would love to know what products I need to stock up on while in the US. Do any of you ladies happen to know?

I could be wrong, but I wouldn't expect much. I doubt they have a Sephora or Ulta, maybe just some drugstore, no-name brand products. I would be sure to stock up on everything you will for sure need. You can also order online when you're over there!

I definitely wasn't expecting a Sephora :) but I have heard that Ecuador has Maybelline products, but I had no idea about Bolivia. And if only I could Cami! Mail either takes up to a year to arrive, or it doesn't arrive at all :(

Yeah I am sure they will have some drugstore brands. You never know, you may get to try a bunch of amazing South America brands! But to be safe, stock up on essentials like foundations, skincare, primers, concealers, powders, and mascaras. I am sure most everywhere will have eyeshadow, bronzers, blush, and lipstick so I wouldn't be too worried about that.

Give someone in your town your new address, do some homework and ask them to send you out stuff as needed :) x

I would totally do that Cass, but the mail service is completely unreliable :(

I have been to Ecuador numerous times and they have Maybelline, L'Oreal but it's way more expensive there. I would buy your foundation and primers. I did see some Elf products but way to expensive. Most likely you will have to buy local brands. You never know they might be better.

The best thing you can do is setup an account with something like Mail Boxes etc, which will allow you to have a US address, then have them forward all your mail and packages to you, there is a monthly fee but it's worth it as you'll find cosmetics hard to come by anywhere besides major cities.

I'm really not sure, I'm pretty sure they have loreal, maybelline, revlon and similar products. if I were you I'd start mentally preparing myself for how expensive makeup will be.LOL..

Also you can bring as much liquid as you like on to the plane in your checked in luggage. You can only bring 3.4 oz (100ml) in your carry on luggage.
