It's a big thing here on BL not to use bronzer as countering, people obsess about it. If you're going to use bronzer as contour, which I do and it looks perfectly fine, and I've seen plenty of makeup artists and youtubers do it, you must use a matte bronzer that's more brown- like too faced chocolate soliel in medium. But no orange based shimmery bronzers for contour. The bronzer thing is a personal preference, so try out both a matte bronzer like I described and the NYX contour powder.

^ Helen's answr should help! The brown shade says where you should contour! And its not that you can't use a bronzer, but for contouring your creating shadows and you need a cool toned, matte bronzer for that which is hard to find bcz bronzers are used for a sun kissed glow and looks orangey/muddy when used to contour! That is why we suggest to use a contouring product instead of bronzers, but if you have a bronzer thats cool toned and matte and does not look orangey then don't worry, you can use that :) its not obsessing but just an opinion/suggestion..
