Not a bad idea at all. I wore a short dress and it really stood out in a good way.

I guess it isn't a bad idea, but I think girls should wear long dresses to prom. short is more for homecoming. plus I don't remember seeing girls at prom with short dresses. but it is your choice.

If everyone's wearing a long dress definitely wear a short one, you'll stand out from the crowd and be unique, oh, and look cute!x

Personally I wouldn't wear a short dress to prom but if you want to go for it go for it I just feel that a long dress is much more formal than a short one but that's my opinion.

Well that's a movie lol. most people wear long dresses to prom because it is the fanciest of dances. very formal. but some people do choose to wear a short dress for whatever reason

Its cool to be different. Rock a short dress. I didn't go to my prom but my bestfriend did. She wore a custom made tux...wore a low cut sequin silk tank top under the fitted jacket, 6 inch stiletto suede black heels wore her hair up and did a red lip. She looked HOT and at our 20 year highschool reunion people still remembered what she wore and seeing all the pics on display everyone looked dated while her pic looked current and in the now. Just an example of how going against the grain can be a good thing.

I agree with Shelley. If you want to wear a short dress then rock it out. Dare to be different is a motto I stand by to this day. I love pic #2 that Hollie posted. A dress like that would be gorgeous and very eye catching. Don't be afraid to stand out in the crowd. That's exactly how trends come about, so go for it and have a wonderful time!
