How is witch hazel as a product and does it break you out? Like are there any chances? Because I have really acne prone skin!

It's a toner and no. It's help to prevent acne for me and most people

It's my holy grail toner. It's not too strong for me which I like and it's "natural".

It depends.
Alot of witch hazel products are mixed with alcohol so you have to check the ingredients first as alcohol can just irritate and break you out more.
Witch hazel is an irritant however so it's not ideal especially for skin with redness.

Oh thanks!! I don't have much redness but my skin is dry so will it dry my skin or should I try it out? If its without alcohol?

What Kitty said. Most from the pharmacy have like 1% alcohol but it doesn't bother me because I moisturize after.

Thanks for the advice <3.

I use the plain liquid witch hazel and a cotton ball. For actual zips I use pure alcohol and a qtip.

I Agree with Kitty mostly all witch hazel has alcohol and it is a irritant because it's high in tannin and when it's used all the time it can restrict blood flow and add to already inflamed irritated skin

Will aloe vera juice be better for my acne prone skin or witch hazel?
Apr 9, 2014
Traci L.
Aloe won't cure acne but it can help with acne scars and inflammation from acne and it's not going to harm your skin.

Real aloe is great for your skin but I use my olay toner with witch hazel and its worked wonders...I use to have reAl bad cystic acne and this helped a lot.

When we say it's a irritant it means it can irritate some skin types because it may work on one person skin doesn't mean it's suggested for all skin types ,it's not recommended for sensitive inflamed skin ,and also not recommended for repetitive use.

Hmmn I'm the exact opposite when it comes to witch hazel...I wash my face and then apply it with a cotton ball...I feel that it takes away the dirt and makeup I have missed when I wash...and when I stop using it for a couple days I start to break out and I use this product every day...along with a good cleanser... its said to balance the pH of your skin...I have no issues when it comes to everyday use...but I say just cause it works for one person doesn't mean it will work for you.

I always break out when I use it and I don't have sensitive skin at all 😒 so I avoid it but sometimes I'll get the great idea to give it another try and I have break outs for 2 days 😔 I do it to myself.

I have oily acne prone skin and I tried it in my early 20 and noticed more irritation than anything. I tried it recently (32 now) and it's been wonderful and seems to soothe me now. I love it and use it more than my expensive stuff now. I'm not sure if it's just different stuff or what. Sounds like it's just not for everyone but I'd say worth a try😉

I use it on my black heads
