Advice on styling my awkward hair length?

When my hair is not straight, it's frizzy and dead. when I straighten it, it's smooth but it's at this awkward length where I don't know... It's so blah! I prefer it down. is there anything I can do?? it's thick and I'm chubby so I feel like where it falls on my shoulders, makes me look even stubbier. any pictures/advice would help.

You could straighten it but curl the ends and do half up half down is well. It's very chic and cute!

Thanks ladies! I'm going to definitely try the half up/half down look and invest more time into loose curls and waves! I am loving these looks <3.
