I have given up trying to tweeze my eyebrows into the same shape. So I made an appointment to go get them threaded tomorrow for the first time. I will admit I am pretty nervous that they might make them worse, that's why I've never gone to get them waxed...
I have fairly sensitive skin and was wondering if I need to do anything prior to my appointment to make things easier? Any and all advice on pre and post threading would be greatly appreciated.

Moisturize and massage, and you''ll be good. Also don't wear makeup. You will love the result, that us the only way I do my brows now.

Honestly I've never got mine done either for the same reason as you lol. But I really want to make an appointment soon. For having sensitive skin, you should get no reaction from threading, you would have a lot higher chance of getting a reaction if you were to do waxing. For now just tell them to clean up your eyebrows and see how you like the result, then next time try getting them shaped a bit differently. The person doing it should know what they're doing lol and should be able to give you an eyebrow shape that flatters your face. If you don't like the results remember it's just hair and it will grow back. Also, if you're afraid of the pain just take a tylenol 30 minutes before the appointment. I wouldn't put makeup on it afterwards but after a day you should be fine. You can also moisturize it afterwards as well (:

Thanks @MaKenzie T. Do you mean massage my brows then before or after the threading is done? I can't wait to finally have an arch in the right place lol!

Don't be nervous, but I know it's hard not to. Just take deep breaths and let them know if it's too much for you at once. I'll be honest and it will sting the first time since you're not used to the technique. Afterward if they don't have any there, apply aloe Vera gel to calm the area. The aloe Vera gel will help the most in calming your skin from the redness and irritation. Good luck!!

Thanks @Shauna S. I read yelp reviews forever before choosing the salon to call for my appointment. I will post before and after pics tomorrow.

Personally I love getting mine waxed and they shape them great, but you'll love getting them threaded they make your brows very precise :)

You ladies are helping me feel better already! I think I will be fine handling the pain since I'm used to using an epilator on my legs, arms, pits and privates. I'm more nervous about either breaking out afterward like I have in the past from waxing or just not liking the way they're shaped, but like Shauna said it's hair and it will grow back.
I have been admiring everyone's arched eyebrows on here and feel the professional will do a far better job with the placement than I ever could.
And I bought an eyebrow kit as well the other day, just in case I want to reshape before the hairs grow back lol.

She might ask you to stretch out your skin with your finger and the more you pull the less it'll hurt. Don't worry you won't die lol(:

Threading is so unsanitary. I'd get them waxed, they have all the different creams for aftercare if it's done by a licensed professional

Debt, I'm curious as to why you say it is unsanitary?

I looked at this salons website and it said they import special antibacterial thread... and I don't want to risk it with the waxing, I've had so many horrible waxes in the past on basically everywhere I've had waxed. And I've seen at least a dozen or more estheticians that came recommended to me by good friends. My skin hates to be waxed for some reason sadly.

If your nervous about breaking out after tell them to not put on the oil on your eyebrows after! I always have to tell them to not use the oil when I get my eyebrows threaded because I'm afraid it will make me break out!

I use to get my eyebrows waxed but my friend got me so hooked on the threading now! My eyebrows look so much nicer! I'm the same as you too! I tweeze my eyebrows as much as I can and then when I suck at tweezing them and I can tell there getting misshaped by me, I tell the eyebrow threading lady to clean them up and make sure there even and she fixes them right up for me! Amazing job as well!
