So I keep seeing posts about crime and their beautiful, majestic, unicorn packaged lippies and now I want one.

Butt...when I looked up the site, all this controversy came up about nasty behavior and repackaged cosmetics!

The only legitimate looking repacking example I can find is of the mica eyeshadow but nothing for lipstick.

So are the lipsticks repackaged from a cheaper mass supplier or are they a legitimate product?

Honest unbiased answers please <3

The products themselves are fine I've heard. Most people just have issues with the company not the products.

I just personally wouldn't purchase from a company with those kind of ethics.

Lime crime had some hoopla going on a few years ago, sad. The truth is though, their lip products are out of this world whhhheeeerrrreee did you get that?! Amazing. I think Doe Deere cleaned up her act and learned her lesson, as she hasn't been heard doing those types of things, I looked into it because I felt badly supporting that behavior. The Carousel Glosses are incredible, but I do keep the dark ones to the center or they bleed, but I've never beat the color, sparkle and shine!! 😍

The lipsticks are Lime Crime, they aren't repackaged

Celeste has it right. The things people are claiming to be repackaged are their pigments/eyeshadows. I agree the lipsticks are out of this world, but I agree with Nala in that I don't support their ethics. Doe Deere is known in the beauty world to be a scam. Lime Crime is definitely not as cheerful, bright, and unique as people think.

Okay here's a nonbias opinion: Probably.

I didn't even know about the controversy until now and I just read the article. After close examination I think the blog post was 70% BS. Like the blogger thinks I'm REALLY supposed to be mad because the lime crime owner started the company because she couldn't find anything bright enough and claims her products are superior. I'm supposed to be mad about that? Are you serious?! Has she not heard of advertising. No one is going to say "hey my products are mediocre but buy it anyway." This and most of her weak argument discredit the blogger. I can't believe anyone who I don't believe can reason. That source is not creditable to me. Her attacks seemed personal and petty.

The only part I believed was the repackaging part. That's only because photos speak for themselves. Some of the photos posted were not dead on. They weren't enough to make me believe but this one.

So yes, if they're shadows are repackaged, you can't put it past them to do the same with lipsticks. Doesn't mean they are, but it's a possibility

Hey symone I posted the link to the blog article that you read, I agree with you about how she reasons, but I also felt that everyone is entitled to make their own opinion based on the information everyone else has read.

I personally have stayed away from their lipsticks mainly because I felt they seemed childish. I don't want to carry around a sparkly unicorn sticker clad plastic tube of lippy. However to each their own.

I think the colors are great, but I gave away every lime crime product I ever bought...and that's some tall coin.

That's such a bummer, hate to add to the profit of someone who was so unkind.

In the beginning, Lime Crime used unhygienic procedures and sold unsafe products that injured a lot of people. When people complained, she would cover it up or have her friends attack the "haters" and squash the reports. Finally, after threat of investigation by the FDA and several complaints to the BBB, she disappeared. (This is a very simple explanation that leaves out a lot of the horrible things that vile woman did.)

When she returned and had the gall to start selling cosmetics again, I was stunned. And no, she has not mended her ways. Last year she was stealing licensed photos from Temptalia, among others. She released a palette that was extremely racist in design (with matching promotional material), then threw a fit when people pointed it out (again threatening people, having her friends jump to defend her). Whenever someone posts a legitimate criticism, she jumps in to argue, belittle, and fight.

Doe Deere is conniving, rude, unprofessional, and a threat to the beauty community. I will NEVER support her (even if by some miracle the products are good and safe now) after all of the problems she has caused.
