Hey Girls,
My cousin and I need help. My cousin is going to be a baptism Godmother and she wants a pretty outfit. She wants me to help her pick her outfit, but I could not suggest her anything. I have no ideas right now. :( She lives in TX, I am in CA. So, we can't go shopping together. :( I believe the weather in TX is hot with increasing temperatures. What should she wear for a baptism? Makeup suggestions are welcomed as well.
Thank You

Anything modest in style, but light and bright is welcomed at baptisms. Unlike a wedding, where one does not want to take away from the bride, baptisms are family oriented and with a strong focus on celebration and new beginnings for a child (or in some cases, an adult) . She should wear anything she would normally wear to church..only a tad more sophisticated. Accessories, hair, shoes...these should be kicked up a notch in my view. Make up should be fresh and clean...applied taking church lighting in mind. They are often filmed by family so she may want to accentuate the eyes so they photograph well. If a feast is following the ceremony, that needs to be considered for attire. Shoulders covered, nothing shorter than a skirt that falls just above the knee and no cleavage are generally practiced in many churches. If they are Baptist...pants by females or bare shoulders are frowned upon...as are short skirts.
I'd wear a silk blouse and a belted pencil skirt myself. Shrugs, blazers or light cardis are great because they can be removed after services. Hope she has fun. :)
