I have a black maxi skirt with a slit down the side and I just wore it with my black Metallica shirt (tucked in) and a long black cardi with full length sleeves lol and the skirt was pulled up to my waist but it still touched the floor lol so yea, it's a bit of a darker look but I loved it and that's pretty much how I always dress so yea.
