Don't tan I the sun it's terrible for you! I would recommend a gradual tanning lotion (don't use jergens).

I recommend going to an indoor tanning salon with low intensity lay down beds. They recreate the suns rays but are also completely controlled unlike the sun. Do this for the week until you leave to develop a base tan, the girl there should be able to help you if she's properly trained but feel free to ask me anymore questions. Cancer is caused by sunburn, a tan is your skins way of protecting itself from it by increasing the production of melanin. You can not avoid the sun, and you shouldn't want to. It's the reason we're all alive and if you're going outside you will be exposed, it's a given. If you still aren't up to it by then and feel like you will still burn try and avoid going out in between 10-3 without any sun protection (a hat, a cover up etc)

Maybe try Victoria's Secret self tanner? I've heard good stuff about it!

That's like saying every smoker is going to get cancer (shit example I know) or everyone that draws on their hand with a sharpie will get skin cancer. We are not mole people meant to live underground. But I refuse to even argue about this ever again beautylish is so close minded and unforgiving it's been ridiculous lately.

Lay out but not as long as you would usually do, use a tanning lotion not a sunblock

The best time to tan is right before 11 a.m. and before 3:00 p.m. Every 15-30 minutes I switch sides to get an even tan. I'm really fair so usually I get sun burnt and then it turns into a tan lol. If you get a sun burn make sure to moisturize after so that your skin doesn't peel and you end up losing your tan.

You're skin type one if you cannot tan at all without burning, which is the only time you're actually recommended to stay out of the sun
