I often wear jewel toned liners and polish, which leaves me wondering if I have to match them to my outfit. Thoughts?

It's completely up to you and what you feel confident in. I personally don't feel your makeup needs to spot on match your outfit, but it shouldn't be two completely different concepts. For example if you do a jewel toned purple liner, I wouldn't go wearing an orange shirt. Instead I would wear colors that compliment purple or are another shade of purple. I hope that makes sense haha.

Of course not! I personally don't like it when makeup matches clothing. If I wear bold makeup, I'll wear neutral toned clothing and vice versa. But if you like it, rock it!

Exactly what Cami said! She said it better than I did :)

I don't find that that's a requirement, but I also don't approve of makeup "rules" in general (the ones that apply to techniques, I respect, however rules like "don't wear dark lips and eyes" are societal fallacies to me).

I like to coordinate but not too matchy, matchy exactly. For instance, I hate when I see a blue shirt and they do the same blue eyeshadow. I think it really just depends though because sometimes fun opposite colors work sometimes, but most of the time I just neutral browns, golds, copper, silver/grey, etc. type colors that go with everything

I think matching makeup is tacky.

Hmmm I've never actually thought about this concept at all. I always wear neutral shades which ultimately go with everything, so I've never thought about it matching or not.
