Just this past year I've started getting eczema on my arms which has now turned into white hyperpigmentation and it has now moved onto my thighs. I've been to the doctors, tried numerous amounts of creams but nothing ever helped. I finally found some products that have been helping me a lot and I wanted to share it with all of you.
1. Selsun Blue Dandruff Shampoo (with the red label)
I use a loofah to gently rub it onto my eczema when I shower and it has helped a lot with the itch.
2. Pine Tar Soap
Pine Tar is known to help with eczema, it has anti inflammatory properties and reduces itch and helps sooth the skin.
3. Polysporin Eczema Essentials Daily Moisturizer
This is my holy grail. In only 3 days I saw a HUGE difference. I'm no longer itchy and it keeps me very moisturized and my skin doesn't feel scaly anymore. It's very healing and it's also helping with my hyperpigmentation which was a nice surprise.
4. Homemade Moisturizer (enough to make a small jar to last a couple weeks)
- 3 tablespoons organic virgin coconut oil
- 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
It's great for locking in moisture and has helped bring down inflammation but it is greasy!

Are you sure you haven't been misdiagnosed? It could be psoriasis, it's gets misdiagnosed all the time, I have it and the only thing that will truly help are prescription steroid topicals.

Thanks girl! My sister suffers from psoriasis (I know it's not the same as eczema) but I'll share these tips with her and see if any of them help her :)

I've been to multiple doctors and they all told me I have eczema so I don't think I've been misdiagnosed. Just because people have eczema doesn't mean they need prescription steroids, some can be treated other ways depending on the severity. I have prescription steroids that help but I refuse to use steroid creams on my body, it's very bad for your skin.
I hope I can help someone with these tips (:

Yeah my sister was on the steroids for while, and they gave her HORRIBLE side effects. So now she just does what she can to fight it herself. By the way another thing that has helped her skin tremendously is fish oil pills!

I hope your sister gets better! It's such an annoying thing to have on your skin. Yeah steroids are horrible, I use it for my dermatitis when I randomly get it because it gets so freaking itchy nothing else will take it away, but I hate using it because it thins out your skin making you more prone to sunburns or other skin conditions. Thanks for the fish oil tip! I've heard so many good things about fish oily, I need to give it a try.

Thank you! I had eczema when I was younger and now it's starting to come back. It's not bad so I would never want steroids for it but it gets so itchy and the dry patches I get are small but red and unflattering :-( I will surely try the shampoo, where do you get the polysporin moisturizer?

I have had eczema my whole life, my mother describes my as an ozzying sore when I was a baby cause it was just everywhere. I used a thick, goopy, smelly cream all of my childhood, as I've gotten older it's not as severe but I think that's part of me being very cautious of anything my my skin. I did the topical steroids as well.
One thing that helped clear my skin was tanning in a low level bed, for 15 minutes max, every other day. Found that one by accident trying to get a little color for prom one year.
Also, try cutting cows milk out of your diet!

I hope I've helped a bit Nicole! Mine also isn't extremely severe, and I have those red dry patches as well. It took me forever to find that polysporin moisturizer but I finally found it at WalMart, you can also get it on well.ca
@Jordan I've heard tanning beds can definitely help people with certain skin issues, I'm skeptical about trying it because I have very pale skin which isn't recommended for tanning beds. Thank you for the tips!

I have extremely bad eczema which you know cause I've posted about it yesterday but I ended up gettin Vanicream from walgreens and I'm seeing a huge difference from just wearing it yesterday and today. I'm not itchy and my redness is going away! which was soo embarrassing since I work at a pizzeria and am constantly working with customers and handing them money and their food, I don't want them to get disgusted. but luckily vanicream is really helping me.
