My hair has finally faded from black to a chocolate brown, and I want to add blonde highlights to it, think jlo! I wanna do it at home, because I have always done my hair at home but what's the best dye to use? It can be box dye or the colour itself as I have 30 developer at home.

You can go about it one of two ways:
-the drugstore way: use revlon frost and glow. It has a highlighting cap and all the stuff you need. They have different shades of blonde. (Nicole used it)
Our use your own highlighting cap (from Sally's beauty supply) and follow the same procedure with bleaching, then adding the color and toning.
or just do your own paneling with foils.

I think you should buy bleach. I bleached my hair myself and it came out good. To highlight there's a technique that I like, it's foiling. It easy if you just do the top and section the hair diagonally and keep doing sections in a diagonal. It's comes out really nice and I'd thin strands of highlights as they just look better in my opinion.

You can buy a highlighting cap from your local drugstore, there are places that sell highlighting kits and it'll come with everything you need :) bleach, brush, everything.

I've bleached my hair at the salon before, I didn't treat it at all and it fried off! Make sure to use marrocan argon oil and styling cream before you style it.

Use that website eSalon, it is not expensive and will recommend a good hair color
