If you're referring to clip in hair extensions:
The typical "lifespan" is 6 months. But in my opinion, it's completely ridiculous & unrealistic to buy a new set everyone 6 months.
If cared for properly they can last much longer. Use heat protectant and be gentle when brushing them.
I've worn them since halfway through 8th grade and I'm in 11th now & I'm only on my 3rd set. So that might help you gauge it.

It's just depends how you treat them , how well maintained you keep them and what kind you get. Get the human hair ones but I wouldn't suggest Sally's , there's aren't that good.

Depends if it's clipped, sewed, or glued... sew-ins last longer about 1 month.. some people leave them in longer

I do have to disagree because I really love Euronext Clip Ins from Sallys.
They're pretty high quality for the affordable price. (Around $135 I believe for 18 inches) They are slightly thinner than other brands but they still work for me, and I have SUPER thick hair.

If you're talking about clip-ins it's depends on how often you wear them. I've had mine for nearly 3 years but I only wear them once a month or so. They're still in great condition though. :)

I think it depends on the type of extension.

I'd say get keratin bond extensions, they last about 4-6 months depending on how well you take care of them. They're great because they're always in your hair, so its so quick to style them.
