I've used Seche Vite for years but am getting tired of throwing out 1/3 of the bottle because it gets to thick. Thinning with acetone isn't great.
What other top coats can you recommend that dry quickly, last without chipping and has a high shine?
Sally Hansen's BigShiny Top Coat isn't bad, but I find it stays tacky for awhile.
Thanks for the advice.

I use NYC. It dries quickly, and doesn't chip on acrylics. haven't tried on my regular nails.

I like revlons top coat. I've had the same prob with seche vite. I find that revlons stays on nicely, dries fast and doesn't really chip.

I have been thinking the same thing. I have been using Sally Hansen mega shine and it gets so thick which I feel ok about thinning with acetone, but I still feel like I get shrinkage at the tips. The one thing I have discovered that helps to stop shrinkage from causing chips is to wait atleast 15 or 20 minutes between coats. That feels like you are doing your nails all day. So I only manage a decent manicure maybe once a month. Where there is a will, there is a way I guess.

There is a thinner for seche vite, you can also buy nail polish thinner.

Out the door is the best! it works just like seche vite but never gets thick! I've had my big bottle for over a year and it's not goopy (:

I'm trying Julep's Freedom Polymer Topcoat for the first time tonight. First impression is that it's not quite as shiny as Seche Vite; but when it dries, it's dried all the way through.

Who makes Out the Door and where can I buy it? I'll give it a try. What is shrinkage? Is that when the tips seem to lose their color just a day after the manicure? I just though it was wearing off.

Seche Vite does make a thinner but I agree after only using 1/3 of bottle it is useless without it. The best I have found is Glisten & Glow HK Girl Fast drying top coat. It is great - similar thickness to Seche and also does not smudge nail art. It dries really fast and I have not seen any signs of shrinkage. This does not go thick after using only 1/3. I am really impressed. It is not available in shops, has to be purchased online. Hope this helps.

I'm loving Cult Nails Wicked Fast at the moment. Dries super fast, it's super shiny, and I've been getting at least 5 days out of polish on natural nails.

Seche Vite can have this problem where after you put it on it literally will shrink up and pull back from the edges causing a sharp edge along your cuticles and tips loosing colors quicker, it's really annoying! Plus who wants to have to throw away a bottle when it's only half empty because it's hardened! boo.
