Whenever I apply foundation especially one that has more coverage the area arnd my lips gets really dry n flaky. I have oily skin so I use n oil free moisturizer. I've tried skipping the primer in that area cuz that's also oil controlling. any tips on how to improve?

I'm with Gypsy here, if your skin is flaky there's nothing your foundation can do about that. You need to exfoliate that area, I like to use Philosophy's Microdelivery Wash and then follow with a good heavy moisturizer in that area. Right when you get out of the shower or after washing your face, put the heavy lotion on that area and give it a chance to soak in, it may take a few days but it should help.
