I've never tried Manic Panic, but I LOATHE Splat. It lasted a solid 2 weeks, tops. It's just not even worth it to try.

Manic panic is safer because it's a veggie dye. no damage. I've used it once & liked it.

I used manic panic and it had mixed results. I dyed a strip of my hair purple and it faded within two weeks. I tried blue and it turned out greenish, but lasted for months and months. Little odd, but still I'd use again, pretty colors either way

Manic panic. Splat is the worse. It damages hair like crazy and it doesn't even last. Go for Ion brights at Sally's. It's my favorite. Better than Pravana in my opinion

Just did manic panic for the first time the other day. So far, reallllyy impressed. I didn't get the color I was going for, but it came out super vibrant and hasn't faded in the slightest. I have only had it for about a week. It wasn't damaging at all. However be prepared to get STAINED. I used gloves to apply and my hand still got stained from washing it out. Overall, really impressed so far.
Oh, I did the color vampire red..

Manic panic. Splat is drying, it's super liquidy and hard to get an even color. manic panic is basically pigment and conditioner so it's very conditioning. That alone should make people stay away from splat. Every time I've had to use splat I hate it even more.
But keep in mind the length of time it stays in depends on your hair. Everybody's hair is different and some are super porous and some don't hold color well. For example my hair holds manic panic for a month or two, and some people it fades out in two weeks.

Manic panic is great but fades too fast in my opinion. can't remember the brand but there are great permanent "unusual" color dyes online. they were pricier but wayy worth it.

Manic panic!! I have never personally used splat, but I've seen and heard about people using it and getting awful results. It fades out very fast (I know manic panic kinda does too), and turns awful colors when it does (two people I know I know did blue and it faded in a very awkward and multicolored patchy way). Manic panic usually fades Ito a very pretty color unless your hair underneath is a coppery or yellowy color. I would 100% say manic panic also because it should be healthier because it is a vegan product that only contains pigment and conditioner. I have used manic panic probably over 20 times now and if anything it leaves my hair silky and smooth, and my hair is totally white underneath. Hope this helped haha.

My hair is also super porous and will not hold manic panic. just sayin.

Emily porosity is only one factor. And if your hair is too porous it actually is unable to hold color well, since it basically just slips out.
But it's very person to person. You'll find formulas that work and formulas that don't. It's like foundation for your face, it's not one fits all. It's not even one color fits all. Like I found manic panic reds don't last at all in my hair, maybe three weeks at most but the blues and purples last 1-4 months in my hair. And it's the opposite for special effects. Just depends on your hair, how often you wash, if you use alcohol or oil based products, how much you use heat, etc.

I actually have splat in my hair right now, haha. It's not terrible but I think I'm going to try something else next time because it was really messy.
