I want to get my makeup done for my graduation party comming up but can't decide if I should get it done at MAC or Ulta, help please!

Mac makes you look toi cakey, but since I've never had my makeup done by Ulta, I'd say Sephora (:. I love how Sephora made me look classy and elegant (:.

Totally second sephora. The ladies there are very nice and will always ask what look you want before starting. I had my makeup done at mac once and she just started going without taking to me about products or anything. I dunno if this always happens but that was the experience I had. of course, not every person will be like this.

Honestly it depends on your location! Sometimes the ladies at Ulta are better at makeup, and sometimes the ladies at MAC are better. It just depends on the store location. I would scope out both of your locations and see how the ladies do their own makeup at each place (do the workers have good makeup?? because if they're makeup is bad I doubt they can do it on else). Jamie has the best answer so far. Both have their pros and cons, but it's going to depend on the people working there. I never go into my local Ulta because I end up pissed off every time I walk in there. My local MAC is a MAC at a Macy's counter and one guy I end up with is sweet, that aside I go to Tyson's Corner for the MAC store and they're nice but if I go to Pentagon then the girls and gents can be nice, but some are a little standoffish.
I do 100% love my local Sephora's, or at least the stand alone stores at my JCP stores have useless associates, and split better going to Pentagon and Tyson's. At this point the people at Pentagon know my face and can strike a convo with me, not to sure if that's a good or bad thing on my part and speaks about my spending but ya know, it's whatever.

None, a lot (I'm not saying all) of these ladies don't know what there doing if its not on there face and even then some don't even know how to do there on face, I have had horrible experience with sephora MUA I went in for a freebie and if was awful, I say do your reasearch and get a licensed MUA or someone with great reputation that knows what there doing

I've never been unhappy with what a MAC artist has done. You just have to be clear about what you want and things you don't like :)
Never gotten my makeup done at Sephora or Ulta.
