So I never wear makeup, never and I'm starting to wear it. I bought the Estée Lauder double wear light in the shade/intensity 1.0. I have combination skin because some days my skin is oily and others its very dry. Whenever I apply the foundation I feel like my skin becomes flaky after I've applied it. I try applying it with my hands and it didnt smooth out as nice as I would have hoped. I used a flat foundation brush and it didn't look right either. I tried a sponge too. I was wondering if you girls had any tips for me? Like I moisturize a couple of minutes before applying foundation and I let the moisturizer set but I really don't like how it comes out. I was thinking about buying a flat angled brush because of so many positive reviews on how it applies foundation. Or would you prefer a beauty blender? All tips, advice, and reviews welcome and appreciated 😊

I'd say use a primer after moisturizing (:. And using a foundation brush is best bc Estee L is a light foundation.

What I do when its flaky around places, is after I do my first layer of moisturizer, wait maybe a minutes, then apply another layer of the moisturizer on the areas that usually get flaky (I use a different usually more oily/moisturizing one for that part but I'm sure it doesn't matter much). If its still flaky after you apply the foundation, just dab the moisturizer on a tiny bit, and after its set cover the area with the foundation a bit again. Hopefully this works out for you!! ☺️💕

Welcome darling ^.^. I'd recommend Benefits POREfessional or Hourglass Veil Primer (which I use) aha

Also, use a lot less than you would think, I had that problem and halved the amount I used and got the coverage I needed without the flakiness.

I have really dry skin and what I noticed was that it applied a lot better with a sponge except You have to exfoliate before applying it. Try using a dewy setting spray.. It helps it look a lot less matte.
